5 Reasons why you should book a day out at the sheep races

Haigslea Ewe Nique Hobby Farm might be famous for a fun day out with the kids, but their new event is designed for adults only to have a bit of fun.

Book a babysitter and get ready for a fun day of racing on June 5, gates open at 12 noon with the first race to start about 1pm, the day will end at 4.30pm.

Not sure what a day at the sheep races would entail?  Read on to find five great reasons to book your ticket today.

Entertainment from two local emerging artists

Ally and Sarah will perform at the sheep races

Local musicians Ally and Sarah will be performing throughout the day.  The country music duo are sisters with soulful songs and impeccable harmonies.

They recently released their new EP Stronger, but they will perform other artists’ hits on the day unless originals are requested.

Leave the kids at home and enjoy a wine 

Enjoy a glass of wine at the sheep race day

Entry to the sheep races is $25, and your ticket includes a glass of wine or a beer.

Farmers Penny and Dave encourage you book a babysitter for the day as the sheep races are an adult only event!

Available on the day will be cheese platters to purchase, and a sausage sizzle, as well as Penny’s delicious coffee!

There will be a bar operating also so you can sit back and enjoy a few drinks and laughs with friends.

The animals!

The races are being held in the fresh air at the charming Ewe Nique Hobby Farm which has sheep, alpacas, peacocks, chickens and goats.

You can see the animals while you’re at the races and you’ll also get the chance to see the sheep parade around before each race to help you pick a winner!

Games and fun

Horseshoe throwing

Penny and Dave will keep the afternoon fun with games including sack races, horseshoe throwing, sweep stakes and more throughout the day.

There will also be a final race with all the previous winners running against each other to find the fastest sheep, and there will be a fashions of the field with the best flat footwear the winner.

Every entry ticket will give you $100 Monopoly money to faux bet on the sheep races held during the day.  At the end use your faux winnings to bid on some great donated prizes – the catch is you won’t know what you’re betting on!
